Spain Triumphs in Judo Mixed Team Elimination Round at the 2024 Olympics

On August 3, 2024, the Judo Mixed Team Elimination Round of 32 took place at the Champ-de-Mars Arena, featuring a thrilling showdown between Spain and the Refugee Olympic Team. The competition was intense, as both teams showcased their skills and determination in a bid to advance to the next phase of the tournament.

Spain's team, consisting of talented athletes, emerged victorious with a decisive score of 4-0. The standout performances included Cristina Cabana Perez, David Garcia Torne, Tristani Mosakhlishvili, and Nikoloz Sherazadishvili, each securing wins for their team.

Cabana Perez dominated in the Women's 63 kg category, finishing her match in just 54 seconds. David Garcia Torne followed suit with an impressive victory in the Men's 66 kg, taking only 36 seconds. Tristani Mosakhlishvili extended Spain’s lead with a significant win in the Men's 73 kg, lasting 2 minutes 18 seconds, and Nikoloz Sherazadishvili rounded out the team's success with a quick win in the Men's 100 kg, finishing in 10 seconds.

The Refugee Olympic Team fought valiantly but was unable to secure a win, with all their matches ending in losses. Adnan Khankan, Mahboubeh Barbari Zharfi, Mohammad Rashnonezhad, Muna Dahouk, Nigara Shaheen, and Sibghatullah Arab represented their team, but could not overcome the Spanish team's superior performance.
