China's Luo Shifang Dominates Women's 59kg Weightlifting at 2024 Olympics

The Women's 59kg weightlifting event at the 2024 Paris Olympics showcased incredible talent and fierce competition. Held on August 8, 2024, at South Paris Arena 6, the event concluded with Luo Shifang from China taking home the gold medal.

Shifang, making her Olympic debut, lifted an impressive total of 241 kg, which included a record-breaking performance in the snatch with 107 kg, earning her an Olympic Record (OR). Other notable performances included Anyelin Venegas Valera from Venezuela, who finished in fourth place with a total of 230 kg, and Rafiatu Folashade Lawal from Nigeria, who finished fifth with an equal lift of 230 kg but ranked lower due to lighter bodyweight.
